Hogs! I need some help...

What would I use an ASH for if I have a FBM and an AD? I am trying to convince myself that I would actually use an ASH if I bought one.

EDIT: Also considering a HR as a middle knife.

The ASH would come in right between the FBM and the AD as a mid-sized knife. It might not chop as well as the FBM, and won't do fine work as well as the AD, but it'll work nicely as an in-betweener if you didn't have either of the other knives.

Compared to the HR, I like my HR better. The ASH has a lot more weight to it, so it might be a little better at chopping than the HR, but the HR is so much lighter, and I can chop with mine just fine. I think a harder comparison to make would be between a HR and the ASH-1 LE when they start shipping. I can't wait to compare those two!

The ASH would come in if you wanted to either save weight or just get by with One knife to do it all. It obviously would not chop as well as a larger knife nor would it be as nimble as a smaller knife for fine tasks. But it can do a OK job with most if not all tasks.

secound on that great for one knife travel

my ash come in a box. I picked it up down to the post office just the other day!

Huh as I expected. It will not replace either but can replace both.
Thanks for the replies.

I always thought the perfect camp knife came in around 7 in.( blade), so the ASH at 6.5 in. should be the best of the best.:D
Steel Hearts rule in my book.
