From your experience who has the best prices and the quickest turnaround from sale to shipment?

That all depends on whether they have one already made, or you have to ship your knife to them to make one. I would say that any of the usual guys here that have one made will ship pretty quick. I know I have bought from most of them, and have always been impressed with the delivery speed.

DIY. I have my sheaths within a few hours of deciding to make them :D

Cheap, too!

And you can tell by looking at them...:foot:

I don't have anything to make one with, but looks aren't important to me, I just need to get something to replace sticking an ash1 down my pants in the busse cardboard sheath wrapped in duct tape and rigged to my belt with paracord.

Mashed Cat will probably have some on hand for that model. They ship really fast. I have two of their sheaths, one for my Ash1 CG.

I want some Buybrown, the look really nice. I bet his turn around will be really quick.

There are many others too.

:thumbup::cool::cool:

It's all part of the Busse experience !

LOL, we need pictures !!!!!

There all pretty fast, if they have a model to mold on.

Pimped out cardboard is the ONLY way to go. Busse cardboard is the only thing of higher quality than INFI so you already got the best base material available :D

Here's mine in ultra uber tactical rain forest cafe jungle camo duck (yes Duck, think Dollar Tree Duct Tape).

Dave Brown...you caused my desperation so this is all YOUR fault :)

If you want a sheath that is uglier then the devil's face, a DIY is completely functional and by far the fastest. Of the people on bf I've just used steelnut, he was very quick and reasonably priced.

I have had kydex from Steelnut and Buy Brown. Both got me what I needed pretty quick.

Speaking strictly on price, traditionally the lowest priced kydex sheaths were from Eric at On-Scene Tactical, whose taco-wrap sheaths I like. Prices run around $36-$43 USD including shipping (from Canada).

I don't know if he has an ASH1 pattern already, since he doesn't list it on his products page. But the site is apparently getting reworked, so that may mean nothing. You could email him to find out -- he's always been quick 'n friendly IME.

The downside is that if he doesn't have a pattern already for your knife, you need to ship your knife through Canadian customs to get it to/from him to have the sheath made. His site has instructions on how to do this relatively painlessly.

As for the best quality, there are lots of great kydex-benders here on the forum whose work has earned solid reputations. I can't speak to turn-around times, since I am close enough to pick up locally from Okuden (Oku here on BFC). IMHO his wares are great -- the fit 'n finish are immaculate.

I do have some Dark Nemesis type duct tape covers too, albeit without the stylish camo. ;) :D

David Brown (Buy Brown) very well made very quick turnaround and very well priced.

You get what you pay for.

Oh yeah. :D

Now that's a killer sheath. :D

I have a cheaper than dirt rough use knife which I broke. I took the sheath and stuck the ash one in there, it of course cut the seems on the cheap sheath as its a lot wider. I then took green painters tape because i ran out of duct tape and wrapped it up like a Mummy. Now I shove that down my pants. A quick solution to my problem. Now I've got to smuggle money away from my account without the fiancee seeing it and buy a real one.

No offense to the other benders...but in my limited experience, Rainwalker sheaths have superior form & finish. TIGHT lockup, easy on the handles, and enough blade space that smoothing of coats or satin scuffing just doesn't happen. I have kydex pants from many different benders, but Rainwalker's have been the best to me. Just my 2cents!

Mashed cat is fast, at least it was when I got the sheath for my CGFBM w/ mags.

I've got a brown sheath as well, but it was a pre-made so I don't know anything about his actual turn around...shipping was fast though!
