So who here has/collects the Buck Strider models?

Picked up an 880SP a few years ago in 154CM. I've carried it a few times but it's a little thick and does take up some pocket space but man is it a solid knife.

Had it out last night for a little while and ran it over my Sharpmaker just to tune the edge a little and that baby is sharp? Probably should have left it out for carry today but that didn't happen. Maybe next week.

Anyone else a fan of these? Also can/will Buck still service or repair this model?

Here's the last post in that long thread. Sums things up well.

I should add that I suggest collecting Buck/Striders as "good" only in relation to them likely going up in value. I myself will not collect them. I had two and I gave one away and sold one (at an astoundingly high price just recently). I won't have any more.

At this point I don't know what else needs to be said.

It is pretty firmly established now that both Mick Strider and Duane Dwyer are liars and posers. Why did they do this? What was the agenda?

Were they jealous of the guys that had actually been there and done that? Or was it just a way to make a fast buck, while stealing the valor of actual operators like Bob Horrigan, who died on his last tour in Iraq? Or did they just think they would not get caught if they were careful enough? I can not answer these questions.

One thing is certain - they did not give a damn about doing the right thing. Words like "honor" or "integrity" or "accountability" or even "faith" were just empty talk. Even when caught repeatedly, lying was still the first choice.

It is especially sad that guys that have walked the walk got suckered and conned. Lord knows I wasn't the first person fooled by them, nor the last, so please don't target Mahwhinney or others that were duped; save your ire for the liars themselves and those the choose to aid and support deciet. There are no excuses left at this point.

Nor is there any cause for celebration or gloating; this is a shameful period for us as a community. This is not about credit. Or bragging rights. Or "jealousy" "competitors" "agedas" or "grudges". It was about stopping liars from using the blood and sweat of servicemen as a sleazy way to market themselves.

A lot of people could have stepped up earlier. The right thing could have been done repeatedly, but I understand; peer pressure is tough. Freebies earn leeway. Money talks. It can be tough to tell a friend they are doing wrong. A number of people enabled this.

I'm closing this thread. I'm posting from my phone, so pardon any spelling & grammar errors.

Since none of the money paid today for a Buck/Strider is going into Mick or Duane's pocket I figure the only person who's benifiting from my purchase is me and the guy who I buy it from. That being said I'd still like to hear from folks who simply like and enjoy this particular model of Buck and leave the whole Strider thing in it's one forum.

I have had several over the years, but the only model I have or use anymore is the 882. I love them! Excellent knives for the money!

Don't have any Striders. How about an inservice with some pics and a review of the different variations? Anyone?

I've got a few....a 2000 SB.1 which is very nice (and big), a 2004 882 Police model with torx screws in the handle (nice) and a newer 889 which I just don't care for. Not sure why, but it just doesn't feel like it has the quality of the other two.

I don't sell many of my knives and I haven't done much with these, so I'll just keep them tucked away for now. My EDC's are a Vantage Pro and S30V 110.

Okay...I had a little time tonight, so I took a few pictures after I located the three I have.

I love the aesthetics of the PT/SMF/SNG style folders. I wish I had gotten into knives a few years ago so I could have caught some of the Buck/Strider collaboration knives.
