I went to the NY Knife show yesterday - man - what a selection of some beautiful knives. If your a knife fan - its like you died and went knife Heaven. Like an idiot I didn't bring a a camera - but boy there were some beauties there - everything from Folders, fixed blades, swords, axes, etc - everything. Not too many mainstream folders - but ZT and Emerson were there in attendance. I must say - the prices on a lot of the custom knives are, how can you say, very humbling. My current most expensive knife is a ZT 0300. I had an itch to get something at the show, and every time I pointed to a knife and asked a price, I was hearing "that's $500"..."oh, that one is $800"..."oh that one is $1300". I even had a custom knife in my hands that was $17,000! I am surprised the gentleman even let me touch the knife - even handed it to me too! Oh...if $$ was not an object (no I would NOT have bought the $17K knife)I know I would have walked away with several $500-$1200 knives - but alas, I cam away with nothing due to my taste and affordability. But I must say it was a good time - and I definitely plan on going again the next time they are around. Only thing is I wish it was multiple rooms or the room they had it in could be a BIGGER one. Man...if only I made more $$!

I went last night after work. The first thing I noticed was that it was half the size of last years show. Economy hitting the knife industry?

It was cool to put the faces with many of the popular names: hinderer, darrell ralph, bud nealy, ernest emerson, elishewitz, dozier, etc.

Did you see the busse battle mistress? Since I went to the show with bowies on my mind, I think that was my favorite of the show, then dozier's stand.
Saw a new hinderer xm-18 with a wharncliff style blade, very cool.

Anyone else make it out?

Did ya see...magician David Blaine was at the show as well...guess he is a knife enthusiast...

David Blaine was talking to RJ Martin about a custom design.
The room was halved and everyone was cramped together. Rumors has it that the show may move to Meadowlands

I went yesterday, really like the XM-18s. The Rockstead knives looks interesing with convex and super smooth blade finish. The Darrel Ralph Madd Maxx was a huge monster, like a sword when opened.

Didn't stay for long, the only thing I got from the show was a free copy of Tactical Knives mag.

I have to agree the space was a little cramped.

Smaller yes, but not halved.

David Blaine huh?
Must've walked right by him.

If it goes to the Meadowlands, it'll be no more knife show for me.
