So why are there no Sabretooth tiger teeth?

Knifemakers use Mammoth tooth, but is there Sabretooth tiger tooth available to be used for knives. I know this is probably a stupid question but it's been bugging me.

I believe it is because the supply is probably so limited that the expense it would cost to use it as a knife material would be outrageous....I'm just guestimating on that but the only ones I have even seen were from the La Brea tarpits back when I lived in California.

The best preserved ones are from the tar pits. I assume that because it is a state run sight that all the bones and teeth are protected. I have always wondered how much went out of there before the state took over. They are around but I bet they are pricey. Check some of the fossil sell sights and see what they have.

I have read that Smilodon teeth are very fragile. This probably means that they are hollow and thin walled. They were also not that large. The largest specimens are only about 7 inches long, but most are smaller than that. Even if you could get one, I don't think it would be a very good material to make a knife handle out of.
