and since an old one goes for 1525.00, I'd assume a new one would really be worth some dough!

I couldn't possibly bid on something like this unless it came with a matching custom made ice cream scooper.

The Ice cream cutters don't want to pay the price for quality materials. I had one company approach me for a knife about 4" longer than they could purchase through the trade but the material cost was too high for 440C.
