I wish I could provide higher quality photos, but that's the best I got.

It's taken me a while, and I'm up to 2500 grit sandpaper. However, I will need higher grit yet as you can still see plenty scratches in certain lights.

May the question never be asked again.

Congrats! 10 hrs is a lot!

You must be feeling happy :D ... And I like the ghost blade a lot!

That plus the camo scales make this a pretty invisible knife :D

wow, no orange peel. Maybe what people meant to say is that there is no EASY way to get a mirror finish on s30v

I've easily spent 10 hours on mine, but I'm still not there, because I used crappy rough sandpaper to start with, which made the initial scratches too deep!!! Grrr!!! Nice job man!!!

I've got some scratches on mine from when I slipped up sharpening it, so while I'm busy sanding it out, I'm gonna try to do this... but 10 hours sounds pretty intense

I mean no offense! But...

Let's see a shot of the blade directly from the side. It's remarkably easy to get even a coarsely-finished 220-grit blade to "reflect like a mirror" at certain angles.

Having said that, if previous scratches have actually been "removed", a 2500-grit finish will indeed be very smooth and reflective from any angle. Most makers who do "mirror polishes" don't go that high (grit-wise) before buffing.

There is it in the light.

Direct reflection.

I've been shining it for a while, different directions and such and I am pretty sure when the scratches from the previous grit are gone. 2500 grit (even worn down) is still leaving scratches.
