so you want a 3 season down bag, but don't want to drop a lot of coin

Sure isn't bad at all. Draft collar, and a short size for us sawed off jokers that's 5oz. lighter, too. Been looking at a new 15 degree bag for when my 40 just isn't enough, but that's something for me to think about before paying triple the price for a bag that goes a few degrees lower and would only see use a few times a year.

It looked great until I saw the stuffed size: 8x13. That's the problem with 550 fill, it remains much more bulky when compressed than the 750-800 fill that you see in more expensive bags. It appears to weigh and compress like a synthetic bag. Oh well, I guess once again you can't get everything...

Having said that, it's still a very warm bag for that price!

Down fill power comparison:
Same weight, drastically different style feather (they all compress down to the same size, but you can use less of the higher fill power down for the same insulation):

If you're looking for a 20F down bag, EMS (Eastern Mountain Sports) has one for $149.00 -20% once it's in your cart - so it comes to $120.00. The benefit is that it's 750 fill goose down. It's 2lbs 3oz so not alot lighter, but i'd bet it's a whole lot warmer.

Also, EMS has a shipping deal for orders $125 and over free shipping. So, buy a tube of SeamGrip and the sleeping bag and get free shipping.

EMS really stands behind their gear too. I used to work in a retail store PT (oh, what awesome Employee Discounts!!!) and they really put the Customer 1st.

EDIT: Looks like the Kelty in Reg size is sold out..... bummer.
