Blackhawk Industries has dropped Camelbak products and is now producing their own hydration systems called Hydrastorm. Much stronger -- click HERE to see one getting run over. Blackhawk has also incorperated an on-off device in the bite valve to prevent unwanted leaks.

Have fun out there!

I have yet to pop a bladder by falling on my Camelbak while, say, mountain bike riding, but have wondered if it could happen.

Do they sell the bladders outright? I.e. in Camelbak sizes as replacements? Have a link?

I've not blown a bladder out yet either. My biggest problem was laying my bag down and having pressure on the bite valve, causing big leaks

The on-off valve was a big factor in my picking up a hydrastorm. It is nice to know I have something nearly indestructable on my back. The screw on -- screw off tube is nice also.

Replacement bladders are for sale, various shapes and sizes. click on Go Get em Gear and then click on the circular Hydrastorm picture at the bottom of the page. Blackhawk has been updating their online catalog today, so if it's down, check back later. The link really does work

I never had a problem with leaking with my Liquidator from Eagle Industries. They have had the on-off valve for years. They even have an advanced set up with a locking valve called the HEP. Now THAT, is high speed...

So, can anyone tell me if the Hydrastorm Torrent bladder fits into the pocket of the Blackhawk 3-day Assault Pack?

The Torrent will fit nicely in the bladder pocket on the inside of the 3 Day Assault Pack, and Blackhawk's other packs also.

Hope this helped,

Dan

Reminds me of the time I went mountain biking, landed a jump wrong, rolled and broke my wrist. One of the rolls popped the old type friction cap on my Camelbak HAWG, drenching me with ice water. Miserable day. Got one of the screw-cap types now. May look into Hydrastorm when the HAWG gets skunky.
