I've always enjoyed the way knife makers share information on BFC. I've been getting a lot of pats on the back on different threads here, and I do appreciate it. I love working with graphics on PhotoShop, but there's really nothing hard about it. Of course it helps if you have PhotoShop and have an idea how to use it. ;)

Rich, asked me to do an avatar for him and then posted a thread here thanking me for doing it.

But, some folks would just like to do their own, and rather than answering each e-mail individually I thought I'd post a simple Tutorial here. I hope it helps and I'd be interested to see with what you come up with here.

Next, we do Animated .GIF's :D

Very interesting Phil. You make it sound real simple. You have an eye that sees what mine doesn't notice. When I look at a knife I only see the knife and not the background. When I look at your work on that picture, I see the knife better than I did the first time. That my friend is a art. Thanks for sharing the information.

Great instructional peice Phil. For those who dont know, I love to photograph knives in my collection. Personally, I think I do a pretty good job :) One important thing I like to remember though is that I am fairly good at it because Phil helped out along the way...and I mean helped ALOT. I used to nag him constantly in chat, and showed him pictures. He would suggest lighting changes, tips on composition and about every other aspect of photography. I suppose its safe to say that much of what I know, I learned from him. For that I am grateful.

Well, here we go....

I did this one for my handle on the CKD forum. BF will be upcoming, and I'll probably do a couple more just for the h*** of it!

Only took THREE HOURS, PHIL!!!! :p
