I just finished this one up this morning, its been a challenge for an ol'hillbilly.
OAL 12 3/8" w/ 7 3/8" blade. The blade was made by combining 4 billets. The stars started as one and were stacked several times then incorperated into the other 2 billets, then I wrapped the entire core with a 191 layer billet.
The tang is continuous and is drilled and threaded to the pommel, the hardware is nickel/silver with curly maple handle material and sterling silver wire inlay, with the added touch of red, white and blue spacer material to show its true colors. The curly maple sheath has a nickel/silver throat ground to match the curve of the guard and too, is highlighted with sterling silver wire inlay.

Thanks for looking

Bill

I'm speechless. I figure we'll be a-seein' that there knife in BLADE magazine before too long.

That is one beautiful and artfull pieces of steel work....WOW, WOW, and DOUBLE WOW!!!!

The overall package is gorgeous!

How do you do it?

Thanks everyone for the nice compliments, this knife caused a few more hairs to turn gray. I didn't think it would ever come together, seemed like every time I turned around murphy was there grinning at me, but I finally fought him off.

Thanks Again,

Bill

Boy, oh boy. It's knives like that that are simultaneously motivating and terrifying to a newbie like me. That sort of stuff puts the bar pretty high. Congratulations on an awesome knife.

John

Way to go Bill, that one is worth a few gray hairs. I agree with John. To me this is both fascinating and feels like I'll NEVER get there. I hope to some day, but it sure looks like a long way from here. My hat's off to you sir, thats one beauty of a blade.
Ed

Thanks again all, I truly do appreciate the comments.

John and Ed all I can't say is persistance paid off on this one, I had been thinking of a blade like this for a while now and when things didn't come together like I hoped I just stayed with it. You and everyone can do anything if you don't give up.

Bruce, yes sir, I had a lot of head scratching on this one.

Thanks

Bill

My hat is off to you,Bill! If I could move to the hills and make knives like that, I'd do it! I am not even clear how you made that damascus. I am really impressed, fella. I really like the inlay, too. Sincerely, stock removal guy and envious.

Thanks again everyone.

B. Wiggins I throught you and that ol fart from Tenn. was going to come play last winter, I kept waiting and waiting but you never showed up.

Thanks,

Bill
