Hello,

I'm hoping to go to the SoCal Blade show in Pasadena this wknd.

Anyone else going?

Is this a good show?

Don

It is a pretty good show of about 200 tables. Plenty of parking nearby and a shopping mall across the street with a lot stuff for your other half to do whill you are drooling.

Not only is it a pretty good show- it's the ONLY show that I know of locally- except for the one in Orange County that charges $50 to get in.

Strangely, I've never seen a Busse for sale there, but I always seem to run into some Busse fans

I'm easy enough to spot. 62, Asian, carrying a blackthorn cane and wandering around with my daughter.

How do you know a BUSSE fan or fellow HOG for that matter?

What, you can't spot a fellow HOG?

Seriously, I usually just get lucky- either they hear me talking about a Busse, or I hear them. ;) :D

As I remember Busse had a table at that show back on 2000 and 2001.

A great show, I bought my first Murray Carter kitchen knife at that show, also my first Criswell sword.

I also sold a fair number of Busse knives there, not uncommon to see people carrying Busses through.

Once you're inducted at Blade, Jerry provides you with top-secret HOGdar technology. Rumor is it has something to do with the elves.

Special, Infi-sensitive magnetometers. Is there such a thing as a Hog who doesn't have at least one piece of Infi on his person at any given time? (Airports and travel notwithstanding)

Just got back from this show. I didn't see any BUSSE blades at all. However, I did see some nice Randalls and Al Mars. It was also my first knife show. I guess I need to make it out to BLADE one day...
