I was in Plaza Cutlery at South Coast Plaza the other day and the guy behind the counter gave a flyer for an in-store knife show. Slated to appear on the 11th & 12th of Oct. are Ernie Emerson, Clint Breshears and Chris Reeves Knives. On the 18th & 19th, Scott Cook, Allen Elishewitz and Eugene Shadley. Steve Ryan and the Strider guys are supposed to be there, too, but I'm not sure which weekend. I'm not connected with Plaza Cutlery, just thought the local guys would like to know. I work just down the street and I work Saturdays so I should be there both weekends. I'm the bald guy with the tat on his neck. Say Hi if you see me.

I'll have to check it out. I also work down the street from South Coast...right off of Sunflower. I'll be there, but not sure which weekend. I'll be the guy with a shaved head...only stubble.

I'm from Socal area...more specifically Los angeles. Where abouts is Plaza Cutlery? That would be pretty cool to check out the in-store knife shows. I've never been to a knife show so would like to go if it isn't too far away. Thanks for the info.

A little geography lesson...when someone uses the term SoCal, they are referring to Los Angeles and Orange counties. Please do not confuse those of us who live south of Camp Pendleton with the riff-raff to the north ;)

Hey now! Who are you calling riff-raff? :p

Really, San Bernadino and Riverside counties are in SoCal too.

Great store with really friendly people. I was there a few weeks ago. Wish we had a knife store like that down here (N.O. area)

Hey SoCal Forumites,

Definitely come by and check out this "in-store" show. I believe it's the first time someone has tried anything like it. If you're in the area or can make a little trip out of it, come by and say hello. Questions, info, product, ideas, or you just have a lot of BS to share. I'm sure there will be some pretty cool blades there as well, (I'll try and do my part). Dan at Plaza Cutlery is trying something new to promote Knives and the Knife Industry and any support whether by word, internet, or stopping by and saying hello would be great!

Hi All,
The store is located in "South Coast Plaza" which is on the corner of Bristol Street & the San Diego (405) freeway in Costa Mesa. We are in the Sears wing on the second level which is the ground level if you park on the Sears side of Bristol & enter the doors between Claim Jumper & Sears. When you hit the main section of the mall we are the second store to the left next to StarBucks. Street address is 3333 South Bristol in Costa Mesa suite #2060 if you want to look it up.

We will be opening at 9AM & all the guys will have knives for sale. Steve Ryan said he will be there both weekends & Josh form Strider will be there both weekends also with Mick & Duane alternating weekends if I understood them correctly. Something different & the store should be crammed as it's only 1000sqf . Ernie said he may have more knives this weekend then Blade West possibly! Any way hope you all can make it! There is more information on the stores website which someone posted here. Not sure if I am allowed to.

Dan, you're an evil man. First you made me give you all that money for a carbon inlayed Elishewitz framelock at last year's Blade West. Now on the eve of this year's Blade West, you announce a show like this. It's not fair! I've been dreaming of a Lochsa all year, but have been able to restrain myself. Now you want me to be tempted by meeting Scott Cook in person, what's a man to do? And Alan Elishewitz too??? You're making it very hard to save up for the construction I need to do to finish my own little shop. I'm not sure how to break this to my wife...

Evil, evil, evil....:)

Allyourblood:

There is a Knife Art Show in San Diego in October. John Smith will be there. I'm not sure about the date though. I'll be at Plaza Cutlery Oct. 11 to check it out. Way to go Dan!:D   ;) :p

Well had to try something new JMX! Next year will be our 30TH year in retailing at South Coast & 58TH in the cutlery business of some type. Plan to do more stuff next year depending on how this goes leading up to our show in October in Huntington Beach! Tell the wife that 2005 looks good!

Scott haven't seen you in a while!!!
