Now this is a European thread if there ever was one. :D

It's FC Bayern Munich for me. I used to watch every single game until a couple of years ago, somehow soccer started to bore me a bit, but I still enjoy a good game very much. Bayern's biggest success in the last couple of years was of course winning the Champions League in 2001.

Anyone else into soccer? What's your favorite team?

I tried.

I really tried to be a soccer fan.

I figured that if most of the world was going nuts over soccer, and the games sometimes ended with riots in the streets, then it must be worth watching.

So I watched game after game, often in to the wee hours of the morning, due to the televised games from the other side of the globe.

Alas, I have rarely been more bored...I mean an hour of back and forth and the score only at 1-1?
And the game actually ending in a TIE!?

I mean, come on, we invented "Overtime" just to avoid ending in a tie.

However, I will admit that women in soccer uniforms look drop-dead SEXY!

Allen.

We do have overtime for cup games, but why shouldn't regular games in a league end in a tie?
You get 3 points if you win and only 1 point per team for a tie. That ought to be enough incentive to "play to win". Sometimes a clear decision is highly unfair, more like a coin toss than anything else.

Liverpool used to be my favorite. That was like 4 years ago however. I rarely have time to watch the games cause i'm to busy playing in them myslef :p

I don't know why, but I've always found playing soccer to be rather boring. To me it's a sport to watch, not play - like hockey. I'd much rather play basketball or football.

When I lived in a larger city that had local amateur games, I used to enjoy going. Much better to watch live than on TV. I find that's true of almost any sport. But mostly, it was an excuse to sit outside and eat bratwurst or Italian sausage or similar pork products.

:)
