hi, everyoue! just wondering--was thinkin bout buying a CQCB7 (internet), but after seeing the SOCFK, thought i'd try for one of those. i wonder if it's viable to get the SOCFK instead of the 7. i like and prefer the ergos of the SOCFK to the 7. i'd apperciate your experience/input.

thanks......john

The only problem with the SOCFK is that unless you live near the stores that sell it(only one chain) you will not be able to handle the knife. I live extremely far away, so i wont be able to go to the stores and handle the knives, i am not willing to spend 150 on something that i have not handled.
But it you really like the socfk, go to a knife store and handle the specwar, it has a similar handle to the socfk.

REKATJACK,

I just got an SOCFK in a trade & I really groove it. I've got a couple of waved 7's as well & they are sweet, but I also prefer the SOCFK handle. It just seems to meld into your hand in either forward or reverse grip. It's a very nicely engineered piece. I'd pick one up if I were you... :D

I have both the CQC7 and the SOFCK. The handle is better on the SOFCK, it has a guard and more importantly, the SO?FCK has the WAVE...

The blade design and implementation is very similar on both knives.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Ed

The reason I traded off my socfk is that it doesn't really wave well consistantly. The handle is large and sticks out, hindering it from opening it sometimes. I've heard from someone else that the 7 is the best wave opening knife in the emerson line.
just my 2 cents

ha'dy, all. handled a waved 7 & PSARK @ the mall. now-- i have a Commander, and maybe i'm compareing the others to it, but they felt kinda wimpy. (hey, ouch, stopit you guys!). they seemed kinda thin, and very light, not like my Carson M-16 (the big one, or my Kasper/Crawford (folder)fighter. although i may just end up getting all 3. yeah--that's th' ticket! ;) thx, still.....RJ
