Hey Guys. I've decided that I want my next blade to be a Socom Delta. Only problem is that I can't decide which model I want. I've heard a lot of good things about CPM-D2 so i'd really like to get one with that steel but I can't seem to find one with with G-10 handles. I also want a plain edge and either Bead Blasted or Stone washed. Seems most of the places I look only have certain models. I'm not a fan of aluminium but if I cant find what i'm looking for then I'll have to settle on the S35vn version with g-10 or the zombietech with alum. handles and elmax. The reason I want the g-10 is because it seems to be more grippy and i'm also afraid of scratching up the aluminum. Can anyone give me some suggestions please?

IF you're not a fan of aluminum (I'm not either)...then don't buy it.

Microtech makes knives in batches with blade steel varying from batch to batch, however, I don't know that I've heard of a g10 socom delta in d2. Generally you'll see the g10 handled deltas in either cts-204p or s35vn and the aluminum zombie delta in elmax as you mentioned. GPknives has aluminum handled deltas in cpm-d2 right now if you think you want cpm-d2 more than you dislike aluminium scales. Personally I'd be on the lookout for a g10 cts-204p version...

The blade seems to be off centered closed pretty bad, on a lot of these newer Microtechs. At least I'm seeing a lot of these. Not a good thing imo for what they cost.

Just had one in s35vn, absolutely perfect fit and finish. Not a big fan of the pocket clip though. I would definitely recommend you go with G10.

I think the only way I'll end up getting the CPM-D2 version is if I decide to go the route of getting someone make me some g-10 scales. Which would suck because it'll end up taking forever. Just really had my mind set on the cpm-d2. Heard it has crazy edge retention.

I have one in D2 with g10 inserts. In regards to D2 vs. s30 V, both hold a superbe edge. I do exersize care in choosing what i use my knives on. The knife is solid, opens smoothly and comes with the standard fit and finishe expected in a Microtech. The knife is a gem.
