SOCOM Delta questions

So I got my first Microtech (mini-matrix) and am loving it! It has me looking at the SOCOM and I wondered if owners could educate me bit please.

Is the delta a slicer or a thick hunk 'o' steel? I'm more into cutters and have a Strider for my bombproof/hard use folder. For example- will it slice an apple or wedge it apart?

Any thoughts on the G-10 vs the Aluminum?

How's the utility of the blade shape? Looks uber-tactical..but dang...it's such a good looking knife and I love the quality of the mini-matrix.

Any thoughts are appreciated!

Get the clip point (not tanto) plain edge (not serrated) blade.

Thanks Bill and Ramzar that is just the model/blade style I want.

For the record, I have the plain edge tanto version and it still slices like crazy. They are ground very well, and have no problem even with very thick difficult materials like rubber etc.

Thanks guys- the microtech bug has bit! This delta is a wicked, wicked blade. I almost went with the aluminum to match the mini-matrix, but figured the g10 would be better over the long haul. The other knives in my collection are looking nervous with these two around! ;) :D

I look forward to using this and seeing how it handles.
