SOCOM Elite or LCC Lightfoot

Both are great. I like the lcc better because of the handle. Living so close to Camden, get both.In auto.

I'm so close to Camden that I'm actually in Camden County - the gunshot wound capital. Thank goodness that lawful concealed carry doesn't exist in New Jersey or it'd be really dangerous. I'm an excellent ducker and have perfected retreating in a zig-zag pattern.

Yes NJ has done a good job keeping knives and firearms from good citizens in an effort to keep them from hurting the _______(insert:car jacker, burglar, rapist). We should rename NJ the "Give it up" state.

That just proves that gun control works. NOT!

The Socom Elite is a little more comfortable to me, but the LCC looks better. Both are excellent knives and neither should let you down. Ideally you could handle each beforehand, but I know how hard that is.

I own both knives.
I have an LCC M/A stonewash serrated and a
SOCOM Elite M/A pre-production grind anopeen finish plain edge.
The LCC is my daily carry, I love it so much.
It cuts very well, can take a sharp edge, is comfortable.
For some reason I can't bring myself to use the SOCOM Elite although I paid the same for both knives.
The handle is very secure compared to the LCC, but at the same time it seems to not be as comfortable (I have medium sized hands).
Another reason I don't use it is that I already know the thick blade (it's a pre-production grind) won't cut better than the LCC.
The clip on the SOCOM Elite is also less secure than the LCC (i replaced the skeletonized clip with a solid D/A clip) and I'm scared of losing the knife.
Keep in mind the SOCOM Elite is a big knife. Sheeple tell me it looks scarier than the LCC because of size and the LCC looks a little classier.
So I guess the conclusion would be for just an EDC I'd go with the LCC. Now, if I was outdoors or knew I was going to do a lot of hard work with a knife that needed to be strong and have a strong, failproof, lock (well no lock is failproof, except maybe the axis, but the SOCOM's microbar is close) it would be the SOCOM.
I'd have to say aesthetically they both look gorgeous. The LCC just seems to be more practical.
I do love how smooth and secure the SOCOM feels when being opend though. Not saying the LCC isn't smooth and secure.
Man, they're both great, but I'd go with the LCC unless perhaps you're looking at the production grind SOCOM Elite.
I'm sure with the higher flat grind it cuts much better than the thicker ground pre-production.

wow, i've said a lot.
Try to handle the two and see how they feel to you.
The SOCOM, although bigger, is lighter than the LCC so that may be a factor in your choice.

Those two are tough as tanks. Great knives. I don't carry either any longer. I now carry a Spyderco LUM G-10.

I only own the LCC but I would recommend it to anyone. It has been my daily carry for about 4 months and I really like it. I think you should get the LCC.

LCC without hesitation. They absolutely rock. This is this first production knife I have ever owned not just 1, not 2, but three versions of. I have picked up two NIB off the forums here for about $100 apiece. Outside of a Sebenza, no other production folder comes close.

I am holding and comparing both knives now, and I dearly love them both. But, if you are doing lots of utility type cutting, I would say get the LCC. The high grind and thin edge of this blade make it a real cutting and slicing machine.
If the main intent is self defense, I would carry the SOCOM Elite.
Why?
The handle has a good finger guard and grooving put in all the right places IMO. The grind on the Elite is thicker, but flesh will still part at it's passing.

The Micro-Bar on mine locks up tighter than a gnat's ass and does not budge when subjected to the dreaded spine whack test. The LCC's liner locks up equally as tight BTW.
I guess it all dependds on what you are really looking for in your folder.
BTW, the Elite is tip down and the LCC is tip up if that is a matter of concern for you.
Happy Hunting!
