My SOCOM Elite is dated 6/2000 and is #1077. It has the blade with the very pronounced swedge on top. Is it the old or new style? The box said Bead Blast on the box, but is that anopeen or regular bead blast. Also, how often should I clean the blade? This is my first MT with bead blast, and I don't want it to rust.

Sounds like a pre-production grind. Anopeen will say anopeen on the box. See the pic ofSocom Elites. The black blade is the new grind. Top is a the Stone wash and the bottom is the Anopeen.

As far as wiping it down. Militec-1 oil will bond right to the metal for long term protection. The metal must be heated up with a hair drier before application.

One of my SE's #0921 6/2000, also has the pronounced swedge. It is pre-production. See the posts on your prior thread.

I have had excellent results with the Tuf-Cloth on BB finishes. No rust probs.
