Never held either of these knives before but I'm about to pull the trigger on one of them. I plan on carrying it in my right front pocket and using it for everyday knife tasks (cutting a bagel at lunch, opening boxes, cutting string/tags). My question to everybody here is which version do you prefer and why? Throw up some pic's if you have them please.

I've had both sizes and for front pocket carry, a Jr might fit better. I currently have Jr in CV and I love everything about it...I like better that the full size one I had years ago!

The Jr. model should handle all that easily. Especially for cutting/slicing food, the thinner hollow grind of the Jr. model is ideal (my stainless Jr. model is a great tomato slicer). The large version has a beefier flat grind, and is MUCH bigger in the pocket; the smaller one is almost forgotten and unnoticed in the pocket. I have several of the large version, and one Jr. model; the smaller one gets carried and used far more often.

I have two of the jr versions, and they are the perfect size for what you describe as your usage. The regular version is quite large and not as pocket friendly

I only have the Jnr, but it's plenty enough knife for anything I do these days.

The Sodbuster Jr. is one of my favorite knives . s for the size,I would not want anything bigger for what I use that knife for and it sounds like we (the OP and I) use the knife for just about the same things.

The Jr. is definitely the more daily use kind of knife. The Sr. is good for heavy use and large game skinning.

I like the 3138, yellow Delrin/ CV Sodbuster, seeing as they haven't made it in some time. Yellow Sodbuster J.R.'s are really common however. Still for most people, myself included can suffice with the junior.

when you see them together you realize the SR is a big darn knife! the Jr is one of my favs, my first case knife i bought myself, carries well, not alot of money
just a neat knife all around, one of the few knives i recommend without hesitation

Yep, the Jr. for front pocket carry and it will do a lot. A Case "yaller handle" Jr. with CV blade is a must have. Then you can go for all the others.

Just go ahead and pick up a Case peanut or mini-trapper while you're at it. You'll find it also makes a heck of a handy EDC that carries very nicely.

Case recently re-introduced the large CV version (3138 CV) to their current product line. Didn't think they ever would, and of course I'd already found some older ones at a somewhat (substantially) inflated price, before they surprised me with the re-introduction.
