yep after searching to the ends of the earth, well actually up to little rock, I have added a case sodbuster jr, cv, yellow handle to my slowly growing addiction er collection of knives. yep it was a pretty good gun show and there on a table sat the ultimate summer knife the jr. I was very pleased with the fit and finish, very tight, very sharp edge, just overall a nice knife. I plan to do the vinegar patina thing to it tuesday evening when i get a chance and then carry it all summer. I do sense a problem between the full size sodbuster and the jr. Aside from the problem with which one to carry i don't think they like each other. last night when i went to bed i set them together on the dresser, this morning they were on opposite sides. I may have to keep them separated to avoid problems. but seriously I am very pleased with this knife and happy to get it. later, ahgar

I think its called sibbling rivalry:D

All kidding aside, everything thats good with the sodbuster pattern, is just as good with the jr, with the added benifit of being more compact. Every sodbuster I got over the years, is now duplicated in a jr.

Great knives for the real world!

I hope I don't run into the rivalry problem;) I just took out my new D2 Country Cousin (Queen's junior Sodbuster), reprofiled the edge, and I'm going to use it instead of my trusty Case CV Soddie for the summer, first because I want to try D2 for an extended period, and second because it is more corrosion resistant for this "sweaty" time of year.
It took a great edge, and so far shows no signs of dulling after a vigorous cardboard cutting workout:D

Good for you! The Jr in CV is a nice, good size knife. Plenty of blade, but small enough to carry well. I'll have to keep an eye on mine as I put it, the slimline trapper and the peanut with each other. So far they seem to be getting along well, but I've been carrying the peanut almost exclusively for work so they may develop a little tension. I hope not, but you never know.

I have managed to keep the number of soddies to two, the Jr. and a Kissing Crane, full size, Brown Mule. Only because I keep gathering up other things I don't have one of for now.

Anyone out there who doesn't have a sodbuster, particularly in carbon steel or CV, you really should have at least one Jr and one full size. I and other forumites are not, however, responsible should you develop a sodbuster addiction and start feeding it. We will cheer you on with each purchase or acquisition though.
