Does queen make any sodbusters in regular carbon steel ,and has any body had trouble with boker sodbusters binding up.
 
I could be wrong, but I believe Queen's Sodbusters (called Country Cousins) are only available in D2. Can't help you with the second query though, sorry.
 
They will bind up if you get a lot of grit in them I suspect.Keep the knife clean and all should be well,my Böker Sod is a good worker.
 
Check out Eye Brand Sodbusters. Carbon blades, they are 4 3/4" OAL closed, so a full sized Sodbuster, which may be bigger than what you want, I don't know. I have one and the blade is very nice quality, hammer forged carbon steel. Back spring is very stout, which I like on a big bladed work knife like this. For $33 at collector knives, I think they are a good value in a Sodbuster. Eye brand doesn't always have the fit and finish of a Queen, but the blades themselves on their knives are very well done.
