Hey guy. I just wanted to share a couple of modification I made to my trusty Case sodbutser jr. with you. I am by no means an expert at this, so take it easy on me. I've always loved soddies, there simple single blade design makes them the perfect everyday knive for me. However, there have always been two things that bother me, the lack of a functional point, and the sharp corner on the butt of the knife. Here's what I came up with. It isn't the prettiest, most refined work, but it makes the knife more comfortable and functional in my eyes.

Looks like the main blade on a SAK.

Yup, that's pretty much what I was going for. I did the same thing to my opinel #6. Working in an office, my knives are mainly used for opening packages and things like that. I find that a spear point blade is the easiest to use for task like this, where the tip is used.

Actually, this is my idea of a perfect everyday knife, but my poor man's version will have to do until I save up a few bucks.

Looks good. Blades shaped like that are very functional, I like them. The Opinel Gardener has such a blade too.

Actually, I've been wanting one of those. I bought my Opinel #6 before I saw the gardner, so I just ground the blade down on the one I had, sanded and reshaped the handle, and gave it a coat of linseed oil.
