As a proud, new Strider owner with my first knife, MT-10. I have a question that may sound silly. What do you guys keep in your front pocket of your SOE sheath? I want to hear from all, because I believe that everyone has something to contribute, not just the high speed SpecOps types. You high speed guys know the value of good intel, so your input is of course appreciated! Thanks!

i ussually put a leatherman, or a SAK fireman in mine.

BTW this got me thinking, i got a d-9 g10, and theyres no friggin way you can fit a flare in that pouch, its the same friggin size as the other sheath pouches, i mean WTF, not that i actually have any flares to put in there, but thats not the point:p

Payback,
Some sheaths were equiped non-standard to accept the Mk13 Mod 0 day/night signaling device. Most were not. Yours obviously isn't. Don't have pouch envy!

I put a Swedish Firesteel and a small sharpening stone in it. I also tape a red and blue chemlight to the sides of the pouch for airborne ops.

LMAO Duane! I am going to miss you in Oregon! You best be ready to party come Atlanta man! :D

Oh yeah, almost forgot, I got a Gerber Multi tool thingy in the pocket of my MT that I got from Duane, good fit.

Thanks brother Rob!
As I will miss helping you find the bottom of another scotch bottle!
But for those who haven't heard, a year has passed and my fantastic daughter Anne will be 1 year old on Sunday. Easy choice, knife show loses. I will miss you guys though, have a great show!

First time poster – could not resist to share my opinion on this one.

In my opinion the Swedish Fire Steel (http://www.light-my-fire.com/) is one of the most sensible things to stuff in here and there (with some constrains). If possible I do carry at least two spare Fire Steels in addition to the one I carry in my front left pocket (secured with a 2meter para cord to my rigger belt).
Anyway: The handle is unfortunately moulded on to the straight shaft and the handle will sometimes separate from the shaft. I do secure the two parts by drilling a small (1/16”) hole through the handle and the shaft some 1/8” from the handle edge (dip drill bit in water – do not blow to remove chips when drilling use safety glasses) and insert a monofilament fishing line (about 1/16” - big fish) in the hole (flatten parts of the line will make it stay in place – trim ends flush).
I do also make a knot that will not loosen on the cord that comes with the steel.

Not easy to light a fire with only the plastic handle…..or I might have something to learn….
