This is my first real kitchen knife.

He just sent me pics of the finished product. I took a quick glance, absolutely love it and I don't wanna see it again until it's in my hands... which is why I'm not sharing the pics yet.

Damascus (or is it technically pattern-weld?) with blackwood bolster handle. Should be here latest Monday, hoping for Saturday.

LOL, good one. From my perspective, this knife has been in the making for nearly a year, so the excitement and suspense is ramping up this last week and I'm enjoying it.

I have a custom kitchen knife design of mine that I've been wanting to get made for 6-7 years now, and found someone to finally make it. Should be done in a couple of months or so :D

I can play this game. I have a Custom S grind Gyuto in the works. I've already used the prototype, and know this will be the best Gyuto I'll ever own.

It will probably be a couple months before I receive it.
Meanwhile I'll be using my old and dropped many times Shiro Kamo.

This is a great knife, but the one I ordered is superior to it

My first real kitchen knife!

Correction: the handle is spalted tamarind

The first thing I cut was chicken and onion. What a delight!

This pic does not do justice. The glare and file compression makes it look thicker... I've never had a knife cut through food so easily. I'm curious to see how it performs when dull because it's so thin.

Most likely you will Not need to sharpen it for a very long time, Stropping will work well until a sharpening is needed.
Plz never put it in the dishwasher!

The Damascus is gorgeous. I could stare into it picking out shapes for hours, I see a owl and a person alrdy.

Congrats on your new Knife Life !

Oh my goodness, what a beautiful piece of craftsmanship!! That's drop dead gorgeous and apparently highly functional too. Useful art!
