Hi fellas, I notice that Arizona Custom Knives has a couple of these for sale with VERY low numbers on them, No. 5 and 6 I think. But they are not cheap. Do any of you know when Emerson is going to include these in his production knives. They seem to be the same as a folding specwar but with a blade catcher on them.
By the way, do the Specwars have the same problem with the opening disc as the Ravens, ie not centered in the finger cut out?

Hello!

Sorry to say i cannot answer all your questions, but, concerning the Specwar vs. Raven on thumbdisc placement my idea is that they suffer from the same "problem".
Me thinks that the SpecWar is a Raven on steroids

Thanks for the info 2Sharp. The SOCFK's for sale are $800 !! I may be wrong but they look like the factory version, not handmade.
It's a pity the disc placement is off center, It's my only gripe on an otherwise great knife.

I have no information on their "status".

But let me say the whole thumb disk thing is pretty much a dead issue with me. Who's going to use a thumb disk (off-center or not)when the knife has a wave?

Just my opinion

$800,that's unreal! Those were being sold for $150 without black blade coatings. Extreme Outfitters had them, don't know if they still do. How important is a low serial number--- worth $650. Also, you know as well a I, that these are factory knives (even if they aren't, how could you tell the difference--unless you actually watched Emerson grind them by hand). I'll bet these will be another factory offering just like the Commander. After hearing that, I should buy as many as I can for $150 and sell them here for $500!!!!

Just double checked, Extreme Outfitters has them for $149.99. Don't know if they are in stock -- might have to be ordered. You could buy 4 knives for $600 (might have to wait though, don't know). Check it out at
tacticaledge.com I am not affiliated with them in any way.

I called extreme outfitters last week. What I was told is that they were being laser engraved, and should be there next week (now, this week). I was told that this was a special project between EK's and them, and that at the moment, there was a run of 200 being made and that extremem outfitters was the only place to get them. They were mainly being sold to spec ops guys, but there should be some available for us civilians. To order one must pre-pay in full,$149.00, delivery should be in about 10 days IIRC. The guy that I spoke to, whose name I do not remember, also told me that some of the low serial #'s were bringing very high prices compared to the pieces w/ higher SN's. I was also told that the only way that these would be available is w/ a black part serrated blade, no other options. I believe that I was also told that the first 10 were sold by Emerson knives at the blade show, and that the others would be sold exclusively through Extreme Outfitters. That's about All I can remember from the conversation now.

I spoke with Steve (Hell of a nice guy) from "EO" at the Blade Show. There is to be the two hundred Tanto bladed SOFCKs and an additional one hundred Spearpoint bladed SOFCKs. They will all be Black-T.

I dug up another picture of the SOFCK prototypes (satin blades) and production SOFCK #005. Link
