I typically am an observer rather then a poster. I typically check this forum 2 or 3 times a day. Since june I have purchased 2 commanders 2 CQC7s and an SOFK. Today after a month long wait (I pity those who custom order) I finally recieved my SOFK tanto point and I have to say it is amazing. In my opinion it combines the best qualities of the CQC7B and the commander. I think the search for the perfect folder is over.....

At least for a couple of weeks or until I can afford a CQC6 :D

Did you buy the SOFCK from a private person, or a store? I was just wondering because when i went on the site that was the only place selling it (acording to www.emersonknives.com), the only model they had was a prototype with no black t coating.

Edsal,
I carry my tanto SOCFK more freguently than any other Emerson
I own although, I am partial to the clip point, Iwant to keep that knife in new condition. But ......... one never knows. If and when I get my c/p commander my carry habits might change. :)

I understand that the best way to acquire a SOCFK is to call Extreme Outfitters directly, and they can tell you what they have in stock. I don't have the phone# but I am sure somebody here has it.

Have they made any SOCFKs with the chrome coating?

To the best of my knowledge, No.

There were 200 Tanto BTs, 100 Spearpoint BTs, 50 Tanto GTs and the Customs. The Customs consisted of 8 real Satin finished Tanto SOCFKs marked "Prototype" and there are four or five real Satin SOCFKs marked "Prototype T&E ONLY NOT FOR SALE". These last few are Tanto and Spearpoints.

Once the initial production of SOCFKs were sold out, more BT Tantos were produced. I have yet to see any more Spearpoint BTs or Tanto GTs.
