soft finish

I'm working on a knife for a customer that wants a copy of a Gerber knife. I was going to put a satin finish on the blade but the customer wants a finish just like the Gerber.

Does anybody know if I replicate that with a blast cabinet or by dipping the blade in ferric acid ???

If in the blast cabinet, what kind of abrasive i.e. aluminum oxide, glass, etc. ??? And if the acid, how do I do it and where can a guy get the acid ???

I can help with where to get the ferric chloride....Radio shack sells it.Hope someone else can answer you about the finish...Bruce
