Soft vs strong opening sebenza 21---different lockup?

I noticed today when I opened my small insingo 21 softly the pocket clip still has a little bit of tension on it due to it resting slightly on the lock bar. When I open it more strongly, the lock bar moves over just far enough so that the clip isn't touching the lock bar any longer. That is telling me the lock bar is moving over a little bit further on a strong opening vs. soft opening. Anybody else experience this?

What you are observing is normal. The lock bar is not rigid. It is a spring. The two scalloped grooves on the back of the lockbar allow it to flex. The harder you open or squeeze the lockbar the further over it will travel due to the lockbar flexing outward. If you really squeeze a Sebenza under very hard use you can push the lockbar right over. None of this is typically noticeable unless you hard use or flick your knife, or open it hard.

All good / no worries:thumbup:

Awesome, thanks!!!

Also if the clip gap bugs you it is easy to fix. Take the clip off and add a little bend (the trick is to temporarly install it backwards to allow you to bend it....just very loosely fit the screw). I had a CRK 21 with very light clip tension. I added a bit of bend and its been perfect ever since. Titanium is not harmed by some flex, so you don't need to be concerned about the clip.
