Software that records PC activity

I was asked to make some instructional videos/demos on how to use some programs at work for new hires. Specifically, I want to be able to record the mouse movement on the desktop, as I navigate through various screens, logging in, entering data, updating spreadsheets, etc.
Is there such a program that exists? Currently, I am taking screen shots and highlighting various areas and providing explanations in the summary. I would rather just record the screen and add audio later during the final editing. Any assitance would be appreciated.:D

Yes, there's quite a well known piece of Freeware (for business or personal use) called Wink - that I think does what you want.

I wonder if it has a size limitation of some sort. Some of the tutorials can get pretty lengthy and unfortunately the new hires are slow learners.

Some of this information is in their FAQ -

As a known problem:
" 8. Rendering very large projects can crash Wink 4505
Rendering or doing other intensive operations like resizing all frames can crash Wink when the projects are very large. This is projects with around 2000 frames or more and the frame dimensions being 1024*768 or larger. It seems to happen when Winks memory usage reaches the available amount of (physical?) memory. "

So it seems maybe 2000 frames could be a limit
or the amount of available RAM on the development computer could be the limit.

If any module is going to be more than 2,000 frames (that's a LOT!) then split the modules into logical lessons?

Did you notice with Wink:
" Audio: Record voice as you create the tutorial for explaining better. " ?

I mean it's freeware and only a 3Mb download -
why not just try it?

I was going to try and use FRAPS, I used to make game demos when I played a lot of online games. Sounds like this will work. I have nothing to lose. I do not mind buying the software, but I'll give it a shot. Thanks.
