Spark, I've been wondering for a while now about the relative worth of an upgrade to the software that may or may not be useful to us here.

We've seen a number of threads run into 2-3 pages, and recently, even more. If it possible to have some sort of "tag" or list of pages on the main page for a particular thread that lists the number of pages, and allows loading directly to the most recent page. Instead of clicking into a thread, seeing that it's run 4 pages, and then clicking to the 4th page, we could go directly to the 4th page of the thread.

Many of us probably follow some of these longer threads and simply want to see the latest development or news, and a single click could take us there. There could simply be a small page number-type link next to the thread title to take a reader directly to the last page of a particular thread.

I'm not sure how useful this would be in every case, but this feature might have merit in a number of them.

It's a pretty popular hack actually - people have it so that you can go directly to the page you want from the topic listings themselves, instead of waiting until the first page downloads completely.

Whether or not it's going to be added to the production version is another matter because there are a lot of "features" that haven't been implemented... though I agree, I'd like to see it myself.

I'm reluctant to hack the UBB program with the frequency of updates that come out for it fixing bugs and security holes....

Thanks, Spark. You're right, it probably is better to wait for it to be part of the standard software release, I wasn't aware, though, that it was such a popular hack. I'm not a software guy, I don't even play one on TV, just thought it would be a popular feature, and it seems that it is. Let's hope that the developers make it a standard feature then.
