Hi Everyone,

I am thinking about getting these items and I wanted to get some opinions about them. I read that the Access card has an "Arc-lock", so how does it help in getting the blade out faster? How is the Access card compared to the Spydercard?

I am also looking at the SOG Outline neck-knife and the Microtech Medallion but the price difference is quite a bit. I thought the Outline might make a good back-up defensive knife and even a good emergency seat-belt cutter. Any opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The SOG Access Card is a handy little pocket knife folding card. The Arc lock does not help it open faster, it is the blade lock. I find it easier to open and unlock than the Spyderco.

The SOG Outline is a really useful little neck knife. The full serrations would help in emergency seat-belt cutting.
I have not personally handled one of these knives, so I can't speak to the handling and feel of the knife...

Access Card handles ok. The arc lock is really nice and smooth. Haven't used it much, but the one thing I don't like is the clip. I feel that it should have been removable or omitted completely. It just adds bulk when carrying it in the wallet. Other than that I can't really fault it.

Personally I can't stand the 'low-riding' clip on the access card but it works for others.

As for the Spydercard comparison it is both smoother and quicker to deploy the Access card. This may very by individual though.

Also the 'locking bias' inherent on arc-lock folders is a nice security feature for avoiding little knicks and cuts and maybe some major ones too...

The nod goes to SOG in this case.
