I have a sog aegis and think it's a great knife. Howeveri find the clip to be very right. Does anyone else have this issue ? It's really rediculously tight and is ripping up my pockets.

I've found that over time they'll loosen up and I need to make them tighter again but if you don't want to wait and break it in, just work on "stretching" it out but pulling it away from the handle for a little while.

When I make my clips tighter, I remove them from the knife handle and put them in a vise and slowly compress the vise. Try to get creative and set something up to do the opposite.

Yea, that clip is incredibly tight. To fix it, I removed the clip from the knife and bent it with some pliers. After that it loosened up so it wouldn't shred my jean pocket, but it would still hold on.

I did try to bend mine with some needle nose pliers while it was still on the knife but it broke. I sent it back and got a new one and dont want to break it.

I guess i could try again just being a little more careful. Thanks for the tips.

Dang, I didn't think it would snap like that.

Perhaps use wide pliers instead of the thin ones so it does not apply pressure in such a small place? I was bending my very slowly and very gently. Even if the clip looks like it is bent so much that it won't snag your jeans (it's no longer parallel to the knife handle when it's reattached), it will still hold on. Hell, the handle is so thick that it stays in place just by bulging your jeans pocket.

Sorry you broke your clip. We do have a free replacement clips. Just give the warranty department a call or email with you info and they will send out a new clip to you. They can be reached at warranty@sogknives.com or 888-405-6433 x229

Hey, Chris! I wonder if the free replacement clips are also available for international customers. I'm having my Aegis shipped around the first week of September and I want to know can I get a new clip if something happens to my old one. Thanks ;)

Got a Aegis from Walmart.com today in the mail. I like it. Where is it made? USA or Twain? I can find it marked anywhere???

USA

There is a sticky above that mentions where all the current products of SOG are produced.

I've taken mine apart and didn't see anything so I think if its made in the US it just doesn't say. Now if its made in another country I think import laws state you have to list it on the product.

Yeah the sticky says it is made in the USA, but I found it strange that it does not say it!

the clip on my Aegis broke recently. ( no I wasn't trying to loosen it) it caught on the ladder as I was boarding a ship. lucky it stayed in my pocket. I contacted SOG they answered back next business day saying my replacement clip was on its way to Canada.
