Well ive been EDCing a benchmade griptilian for the last year or so. I like the knife but looking into getting something NEW, for the new year. I really like the looks of the SOG Aegis, just wondering what everyones thoughts are on them before i bought one.

I like the looks also and the flat ground blade shape. I don't like the assist feature. I don't know if it can be removed. SOG does'nt have the best rep for folders at least lately. I think or the price you would be better off with a Spyderco Endura.

I have to agree with just about all of that. i would spend the money on a spyderco as well, IMO

This is good to know, i like the assist feature on the knife and the over all look. I do have a few spyderco's a delcia wave and the original manix. So i know spyderco makes a damn fine knife. Its to bad the aegis is starting to sound like the knife not for me.

I have a digital camo Aegis and like it for the most part. I do in fact like assisted opening, and it works very well on the Aegis. It really is a pretty remarkably useful, large knife considering its weight. I actually have an Endura G-10 on order ($70 from Knifeworks), but haven't really played with one enough to make an intelligent comparison.

theres a youtube review of it, you should check it out to get better specs/info...
