SOG and Cold Steel "seconds"

Apart from these two, does anyone know of other companies that offer "seconds" for sale? Any experiences, good or bad?

(BTW, I own a "second" SRK - looking at it, I've no idea why it was designated as not being of first quality)
 
I just bought several knives at the Spyderco factory here in Golden Colo. They were listed as seconds and about 30 % off retail price. I bought 2 meercats,1 police,1 spyder wrench, 1 native, 1 small folder / a flag on it and 3 five dollar knives that were returns and regound and assorted ceramic sharpening sticks.
All for 300 bucks.
I priced it out and I did ok. About 30 % off retail and no shipping.
cant wait for the next sale. Im saving up my money now !

Check out manufactorer websites, I know SOG has mentioning of this on there site. I assume so would others.

Sometimes dealers might sell seconds, really nice looking seconds as firsts. Theres nothing wrong with the knife if your planning to use it, it will opereate same as normal ones.
 
A.G.Russell also carries a few seconds, beautiful knives, too. On his homepage, look on the right about halfway down.

I've picked up some Cold Steel seconds including a SRK, a Bird & Trout, and a Culloden. Really nice, no noticeable defects.

A good way to get in on seconds is to ask for a catalog. They'll keep on sending them as long as you're an occasional customer, and most of them list some kind of seconds section. I know Cold Steel's Special Projects catalog does.
 
Given the "asymmetrical" (and I'm being diplomatic here) grinds of the last SOG knife that I bought at full retail I'd hate to see a second from this company...

Did you go over to SOG's forum, and contact anyone regarding this?

I know for a fact that Ron@SOG will take care of you, if you give him the chance.

schrade, camillus, kabar and remington. me I do not like to buy seconds......:barf: :barf: :barf: (my personal experience has always been..well not sooo good!).
 
How about Himalayan Imports?

Bill offers seconds for sale on almost a daily basis in their forum, and most of them are incredible deals.

I've always wanted a cold steel second. I hear they're usually pretty good. You have to get some kind of catalog to get them, I think.

sog has their second listed on their web page and cold steel sends out a catalog listing their seconds
