I am a Benchmade fan and I very much like Sog knives very much. I used to own a Seal Pup but sold it to get my Fallkniven A1 and a Benchmade 140HS Nimravus.

Any ways I was wondering if any of you can compare the AXIS lock from BKC and the ARC-Lock from Sog. Are they much the same do they feel similar in action.

I have a Delta Elite II, but no experience with the Benchmade Axis Lock. I've heard great praises for the Axis Lock, and would like to know how the Arc Lock compares. The Delta Elite II is one of my all-time favorite folders; great blade length & design, scary sharp, easy to re-hone, and "pops" open easily & positively.

I've had both...I thought that the Sog functioned just as well as the BM and was every bit as nice as the benchmades. That said the Arc seemed to move easier than the axis like the springs aren't as stiff..If I recall you could move one side of the little bar without moving the other side, but I alway grab both sides so that doesn't matter. I'm a big BM fan and a Big Axis lock fan...so much so that I pretty much don't buy any thing else but the night vision that I had from SOG was a really awsome folder and the lock was also ever bit a good as the axis. I wouldn't hesitate to buy an Arc lock.

Having had both (still do... :D) I think the Arc is equal to the Axis. They "feel" different, though. I (biased opinion...:p ) think my NV is a little smoother than my BM Axis... but then again, it's been "tweaked"... ;)

Sorry for digging out such an old thread. But I think it is better than creating a new one, since this thread is about exactly the thing I wanted to ask.
Can you open an Arc-lock knife the way you can do with an Axis-lock?
To see what I mean just type in into YouTube "axis benchmade" and watch the first video.
