SOG Architech - Thoughts?

Newcomer, but have owned several SOGs over the years. Saw on the company website that they have a new blade coming out, called the architech. Appears to be a sharp knife. Interested in getting the board's thoughts on SOG's new product.
 
Superior fit and finish. One of SOG's "near custom quality" knives. Buy it!:)
 
I figured they were proud of it, as it has $400 sticker. Good to hear that it's of high quality though. I'm told they're on "pre-sale" right now, so none in stores yet.
 
Great looking knife for sure, I really want one. But absurdly overpriced, even assuming 40% of the price tag will come off at retail. For the same price you can a Small Sebenza, maybe a large if you find a deal, and they are much nicer knives than the Architect.
 
i`d never pay $400 for a sog.

and yep $400 is getting me my large sebenza with bloodwood scales
 
I checked at the local shop, and they have 3 on order at $240, which is much more reasonable. Thanks for the input fellas. If I do get my hands on one, I'll post some pics.

That is cheaper, although I wouldn't call it reasonable. For something like $170w/shipping you can get a Limited Edition Large Skirmish, which has solid titanium handles/framelock (I believe the Architect just has bolsters, then stainless steel liners) that are specially anodized, and an S30V blade, which is at least as good, if not better than VG-10 (better IMHO). There are lots more examples I could list that I believe are better knives for less money. I still want an Architect, it's gorgeous, but I wont pay an unfair price for beauty.

i realy like the Arcitech. SanMai sandwich steel,bone scales, and a nice design.

The only bad about is the price. 240 sound´s not too bad, much better than 425.

Just to make sure, the Arcitech is limited edition ? How many do they produce?
Will the price drop, or raise ?

How good is the Arc-lock ?
