I went by the SOG booth at blade show this year and was impressed with a couple knives that were new to the line. I wanted to buy them but got tied up and never made it back. I saw so much stuff that day that I don't remember much about what I saw, all I know is that they were new this year. Does anytone know what these new knives were? I want to pick up one or two.

Not sure I saw or noticed all the new ones and not sure what you saw.

You may have seen the Flashback. It was shown but IIRC was not for sale yet, but they are starting to hit the market now. To quote "The Flashback has the distinction of being one of the fastest assisted openings". Again, IIRC Chris told me it has a new type spring set up (coiled FLAT spring?).

There was also a new auto, which was shown but not available for sale (and I tried really hard to buy one :D, but couldnt' talk Chris out of it.

Keep an eye on the Exchange here and/or check BladeHQ, Knifecenter, Knifeworks, New Graham Knives (all BF supporting dealers) and you should find what you are looking for.

Nutnfancy has done a video on the new Sog Flashbacks.

It opens really fast—it is very close to an high-quality automatic.

I am not sure if the handle shape will work for me though.

Plus, I am not that fond of metal handles.

From my short time handling it, it should it pretty comfortable for light use.

It definitely opened with authority! Didn't have a stop watch :D, so don't know if its the fastest, but its certainly up there.
I liked the idea of the new FLAT coiled spring. Sounds good, but I'm no engineer.
IIRC SOG is using the same spring type on the new auto, but as far as I know those have not come out yet.

I don't mind metal handles IF they are done right and don't recall being bothered by this one.
Some might find it a tad gaudy, but I like the occasional different looking knife.

Oh yeah, the other problem is with the way the pocket clip extends out of the handle for very low carry.

I have the Aegis and Mini-Aegis, I like them except for this feature, as it digs into my hand when using the knife.
