Anyone had any issues with up and down blade play on their SOG flash II?
After using mine for EDC about 2 months there’s been noticeable up and down play. I know you can adjust the pivot screw for side to side but I’m not sure if there’s anything that can be done about up and down. Just wondering if anyone else had experienced this and if so is there anything I can do to adjust it?

not personaly but ive read tons of people having similar problems with SOG. IMO SOG= the suck. Sorry i couldnt be more helpful. You could try giving them a call and see if they will fix it

Not sure what you mean by "spine whacked" but only use it seen has be basic - box opening, zip tie cutting and such. At this point though it may turn into my beater knife.

Spine whacking is a lock "test" that some people do ...you smack the spine of the blade on a table to try to make the lock fail. It can result in vertical blade play because of lock damage.

My Aegis and my Flash II have blade play up and down, you really can't do anything about it. I think it is because the lack of steel liners in there knives. Does not meen they suck, I love the SOG knives, but that is par for the course with the knives I mentioned, it is not just you.

My SOG knives are fine, I would not say they suck by any means. I have marveled at the hard use a friend of mine has put a couple of SOG knives through .. they look a little tuff but they have stood the test. I have had knives from several makers that had problems but it must have been isolated examples for I own many of their knives and they are great. Any company can have a mistake, get ahold of SOG and let them know.

Thanks for your help guys. I did get in touch with SOG, they said it would be covered under warranty and they'll take care of the problem. I sent it off today. Hope it works out, I really do like the knife.

The two I used to own had a little play in them. I think it's just the nature of the knife design.

I love the looks of SOG's blades, but the constant problems that people have had with SOG has held me back from getting some of their blades.

I had a sog Trident folder that had plade play in every direction.
Long been traded and I'll never own another Sog folder.
