Hey guys,

Just got a SOG Power Lock S60 yesterday and was wondering if anyone knows what steel they use for the blade?

Thanks.

The website does not appear to contain any information about the materials used, other than to say they are all "stainless steel." I would tend to think that the blade is made of an inferior stainless, as it is not specifically mntioned. The main function of that multi-tool is the Compound Leverage pliers, so it is reasonable to assume that there is not much emphasis placed on providing the tool with a superior blade.

Check the blade itself. Is there some kind of marking that may indicate the type of steel used? Does it say...God forbid...."China"

The only true way to know for certain is to email the company. They should be able to tell you if they use a specific steel, and what kind it is.

Good luck.

I just confirmed and it is 420 stainless. Also, the blade is not made in China. We only have one knife made in China and it is the Micron.
