Im gonna kill two birds with one stone here.

I'm looking for a new keychain knife, whay do you guys recommend? SOG crosscut maybe? Or should I just stick with the SAK classic?

Next, I want to get a new small knife that is 6 inches overall or less, and prefer an assisted opener. Anyone handle a SOG blink yet? How are they? I've handled a scallion before and like them alot, which would you guys recommend? Have any other suggestions? Thanks for your help :)

Boy, it's easy for me to recommend both the Crosscut and the Blink. Both have been used by me extensively and I can endorse them as great little workhorses.

Here's a picture of my Gold TiNi CrossCut (carried in a MicroRig by On/Scene Tactical), a couple of Blinks (one open an one closed), a Mini JetEdge (discontinued), and of course my Z-Key and alarm fob.

I really like my Chive, and the Scallion is basically just a bigger version, so I can recommend that. I haven't yet had a chance to handle a Blink, sorry.

As far as a keychain knife I would go with the crosscut, or Micra. I prefer this type of multi-tool to a small SAK. I would also reccommend that if you do go for the wulti tool you get a kydex sheath for it. I got one for my Micra from On-Scene Tactical for less than $10, and it has greatly increased the utility of the knife. It is a bit awkward trying to use the tools with your keys getting in the way, and removing all the time can be a pain. HTH.

I usually have trouble opening small knives w/thumbstuds, but was playing w/ one at a recent gun show and brought it home.Nice little knife

I Fondled a Blink yesterday at the Shriners Gun Show in Tyler. It is a thin rectangle with dual thumbstuds.Very light and very fast. Has a little sliding lock on its spine. Very "plain Jane". No frills. Good steel.

I recommend a SOG CrossCut for your keychain, and a FRN plain-edge Spyderco Delica for your pocket.

I think of both knives as being a little big for my keychain, but maybe that's just me. I have a Micra on my keychain.

I have had a Blink for a couple of months, it works well for me and I am quite happy with it (just clipped to my pocket, not on a chain ;) ). The action on mine started off a little stiff and "broke-in" over the course of several nights of TV watching.

My wife wanted one, but after trying mine, she decided that the thumbstud action was too difficult for her (and might have chipped her nailpolish). The same day she came to that decision we ended up at an REI where they had some AL handled Scallions and some Chives, and she found the flipper action on those to be easier for her. However she thought the Chive was hard to open due to its small size (the Blink is easier because your fingertips can brace against the clip as well as the back of the knife), and that the larger Scallion was the right size for her. Being that REI is super-expensive, I have been meaning to pick one up for her from some cheaper when I get the chance.

There is another SOG (the Twitch) with a flipper, now, but for some reason it has no clip, so I have no urge to give up my Blink despite the "improvement."
