Is it right, that the early SOG Bowies 2.0 were made from SK5 steel?
If yes what would be the hardness of the steel?

The SOG Bowie 2.0 has always been AUS-8 stainless. The original SOG Bowie was made using SK-5. The hardness of the SK-5 knives is 57-58.

Since were on the subject, what's the hardness of the AUS-8? Is there a major difference?

I own a SOG bowie myself and believe its AUS-8.
Not to thread hijack, but Chris@SOG I have a question if you don't mind. I am the owner of a really old Twitch XL (really old, no thumbstud) and just recently the spring inside busted. I thought this was strange because it was working fine and all of a sudden the spring broke in half.
Do you know where I can order a replacment?
