yes this is a very good knife it is made out of some kind of metal who knows what, it has a handle on it so you dont cut yourself what else is there to say lets see i know , the metal has been sharpened using some kind of sharpening method so the blade can cut through things well thats about all i can think of for now hope this was u
seful to you

hello

thanks for the overwhelming response guys.im assuming that the knife must be a piece of garbage seen as none of you seem to know anything about it,i dont think ill waste £300 on it .

Stikboy1,

Let's see now, SOG Bowie you say? Good choice for a collectable blade old chap. Love the classy grinds & lines. Personally this pattern is a great turn on for me. The leather handle is a fine touch to this classic pattern. The black sheath is sturdy but dare I wish for a tan colored sheath instead.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, a gun blued finish may not be the most hard wearing but it sure adds coolness to the whole package. Wish a more up to date hard wearing black finish may be offered someday? You might want to check out the Trident instead, it being stainless and all, would serve you better in the great outdoors.

Due to budget constraints many prefer a more affordable and manageable blade as in the SEAL Pup. You could look at the SOG Tech as a more 'civilized' version of the classic SOG Bowie patterns in the SOG-K line.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Since this forum at times can move slowly, patience on the part of the poster is necessary. Also, your sacrasm will turn some people away from responding to you.

The SOG Bowie is an awesome knife. Though most will buy it as a collector's knife, some will actually use it...quite successfully.

If there are other questions I can answer for you, please let me know.

sorry guys you probably think im an impatient jerk. by the way im sure the bowie is a great knife , i just thought if i badmouthed it people would jump to its defence, kinda like reverse phsycology.anyway thanks a lot krizzard old bean the information you bgave was very useful , as was rons .thanks guys i appreciate it . i thnk ill be off now to buy the knife direct from SOGs excellent website. cheers.

Hi Stikboy1,

Glad these responses worked out for you. Though "reverse psychology" may work out for you, it does not work out in the long haul in the development of relationships. The building of trust becomes a much bigger issue.

My best to you and I hope your knife search goes well. Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

Stikboy1,

Welcome to the club. Be hearing more from you once you get hold of that SOG-K Bowie? Good luck in getting it through. Understand its tough over in the Kingdom. Feel free to drop in for anything that's related to our common interest in regards to this outstanding bladeline. SOG-K all the way!

stikboy1,

You might also want to take a look at the SOG Seal 2000, as that is one hell-for-stout knife, that might prove to be pretty useful for you in the outdoors!.:).
