SOG Bowie?

I have always loved the looks of this knife, and as of late have started seriously wanting one. Anyone have any experiences with this knife and can comment? I don't hear much about SOG these days and don't know how their quality rates.

SOG makes at least two different bowies. Which are you asking about? The SOG "Recon Bowie" I have is pretty nice.

The original with the blued Sk5 blade. Although the Recon is interesting as well. I prefer the "pointier" blade of the original. I believe they both use the same steel and finish, how does yours hold up as far as sharpness and edge retention? I doubt I'd ever actually use this for anything but I'm not real interested in anything that isn't functional.

Hi Guys, I have a SOG Bowie and really like it. Fit and finish are great!! The SK-5 steel talks and holds a great edge, no complants at all. It has a really nice balance and comes shaving sharp. The tip is really sharp and pointy! A very Impressive blade. I took it to a Family Reunion 2 months ago and everyone really liked playing with it. If you like the design, you will love the knife. It's great!
