Does anyone know what kind of steel the scissors and accessories are made from?

It seems to me that the scissors edges get dented rather easily from cutting phone wire.

IIRC Ron said the steel is 400 series stainless. Hope that helps.

If you cut wire, you may want to consider the CrossGrip which has the wire cutters...
