SOG Cryogenic Heat Treat

SOG’s unique cryogenic heat treatment process increases the toughness and wear resistance of our blades. Taking the knife slowly down in temperature to less than -300°F and then back to room temperature. This stress relieves the material on an atomic level and increases overall strength as well as edge retention. Knife edges stay sharp longer with significantly less micro-fracturing and edge-chipping. Its this dedication to making your knife SOG sharp that sets us apart from the rest.

will there be any marking on the box or knife itself
 
There is no marking at this point, but we are working toward the goal of either marking the boxes or the knives themselves.

Chris,Why are only the following models post above Cryogenically Heat Treated and Second,is the whole line going to be eventually treated as such.The reason that I ask is that I'm thing of getting a SOG Spec-elite 2
 
The reason some models are and others are not, is that not all of our vendors have the capability at this point. We are working on getting more of our knives treated but it may be a several year process before all the knives are Cryogenically Heat Treated.
