Why don't you try them out and figure out which one you like? Isn't that why you bought them?

First decide which out of the two you like the best.

That would be the one I'd carry first IMO.

I'm not a big fan of combo edges, I like straight edge blades so its an easy decision for me.

You may hear plenty of negative remarks about SOG, but I own 5 of their offerings and they have never let me down.

Yes my Mini Aegis has a little blade play but its so slight and doesn't bother me in the least.

It's one of my oldest user knives I have and still love it to this day.

Ya I am rotating em right now. I like em both for their own reasons, I like the pentagon cause of the serrations and the shark tooth tip, but I like the spec because its a plain blade and just looks bad ...... Ahhhh!!!!

I look at blade length and shape/geometry for what I will probably use it for that day or trip and what I might end up using it for. In this case it would just be shape/geometry. Use thin or thick tips or edges according to strengths and weaknesses, same with serrations.

I love my Spec Elite. I say cast that horrible combo edge away to the pits of hell where they belong, and rejoice in a sweet knife. I will note one thing though, that the recurve is a pain to sharpen, and the studs may need to be removed to sharpen the blade.

The Spec Elite is an awesome knife.

normally i would say go spec elite and avoid the serrations for an EDC because that's not my thing, but if you can utilize the serrations in your daily carry, go Pentagon....... or do as Dorito said strap both on :D

Spec Elite. Just like the look of it over the more dagger-like appearance of the Pentagon Elite.
