I just ordered a SOG Desert Dagger. I am hoping I will be as happy with the actual item as I was with the pics. I had to decide between it and the Cold Steel Outdoorsman and since it was cheaper I went with the SOG. The SOG was $95 and the Cold Steel was $135.

what about the new Daggerts? What are the differences between the Desert Dagger, and the Daggert 1&2?

Cleary

P.S. Because I want a Daggert 1... by the way, are the legal carry in Ohio being dual edge?

I think blade finish and handle styles are the biggest differences. the blade on the deser dagger is polished I do believe and the others are black or bead blasted. Also, I did not like the bright red washers on the Daggert's handles.

Desert Dagger has Aus 6 blade. The new ones have Aus 8. I like both of these knives. They have incredibly comfortabel handles. It's very enjoyable to use them.

I love many of the SOG knives and I have a number of them, but at their price point, I wish they were made of better steel. I also always choose non-serrated blades whever possible.

Uma Thurman uses the Desert Dagger in the first scene of Kill Bill Vol. I--that's enough reason to buy it right there!!! Seriously, though, you'll like it--it's got a great feel in the hand. I've got the government agent and the D.D.--very well balanced and usable...

If you like the desert Dagger, you better buy the next one you see. I don't believe SOG is producing them any longer; (not listed in their catalog). Might be a few left in dealer's inventories.

Apparently being replaced by the Daggert Series.
