SOG edge grinds

I was looking at a friend of mine's "new" SOG Seal Knife 2000 when I realized the edge grinds are WAY off on each side of the knife. It came out of the box with about a 2mm grind on the "display" side, but barely a 1mm grind on the back side. Is this normal? For the money he spent (!!!) I was surprised at the edge grinds being so far off.

That doesn't sound right. My SOG has nearly perfect edge grinds. The last couple of Gerbers I have bought have had bevels ground wrong or the blade was ground so bad it actually has a curve to it. But the 3 SOG's I own are as good as I have seen. He may want to contact the company to ask them directly.
