As you can see from the pics above, I visited the SOG factory recently.
Factory tours are not available, which is kind of a shame. The store itself is a small counter area in the back of the main lobby.
Folks were very nice. Got to speak to Chris, and he was very accomidating. The clerk at the counter was so nice that she helped me even though she had twisted her ankle at home earlier and wasn't feeling so well. Bravo for helping someone out even under conditions that weren't the best.
Knife sharpening is available while you wait, and you can also drop off direct for warranty repairs which may take a few days.
The store does display some of the Seki City material, and the US made assisted openers, but the majority of what is available is the newer Taiwan product. Tool logic products are also on display, since SOG purchased the company some time ago.
About 75 or so employees, which is pretty incredible considering the number of models available.
The factory store sells seconds for 1/2 of retail. I picked up a Gov Tac and a Flash II while I was there.
I wanted a Force, or at least to pick one up and handle it, but they didn't have any available for sale at the time, since it is still in the process of initial delivery to retailers.
Some discontinued models are on display, but were for display only. If you want a Team Leader, no dice. Go to fleabay or the forums.
Overall a good experience. Worth stopping by if you are in the area. Bring your Wallet.
Thanks All at SOG for all of your help and hospitality.
